Tranquility
MADI NATIONAL STONE SCULPTURE SYMPOSIUM
November 9-26, 2019
The Madi forest, known for its dangerous wildlife, filled me with fear, especially after nightfall. Tales of man-eating tigers, ferocious bears, and angry elephants were common during my 18-day stay. I wondered why such a beautiful place was associated only with fear and terror.
Inspired by this, I created a sculpture of a fox, peacefully sleeping and bundled up. The soft, rounded form of the sleeping fox symbolises tranquility and comfort within the dense forest. The usually alert ears are now folded back, conveying an aura of peace and serenity.
